Simplesimone, you neglected to mention Andrew Bolt's personal friendship with our PM, Tony Abbott!
Recently it even appears to me as though the two engage in a kind of 'good cop' - 'bad cop' routine, wherein once Abbott's loose lips get HIM into trouble; as with his comment about finding women of Islamic faith wearing burqas confronting, he does a backflip and his mates in the media such as Andrew Bolt take over the sensationalised stuff in the print media and on air.
Sadly though the impact of biased and sensationalised reporting in the media is already playing out on our streets, even impacting non-Muslim women:
"... The woman, who spoke to the Ballarat Courier on the condition of anonymity, said she had wrapped her scarf around her head to protect herself from the rain before crossing the road.
But as she was making her away across the intersection, the driver of the car stuck his head out the window and yelled out a series of profanities and racist slurs.
He then sped off as he yelled at her to "go home".
"This bewildered me initially as I am not a Muslim," the woman said. ..."
What's even more interesting is the lack of condemnation from non-Islamic sources and especially from the NewsCorp media which hasn't even reported on the matter. Something it also failed to do in June 2013 when a young Indian restaurant owner was racially abused and assaulted in Ballarat:
