I put a very significant - for me - sum of money down on 7 companies in early Feb 2009. Flight Centre at $6.40 was one of them. By early March my investment had halved. My margin loan was within 1% of triggering a phone call. I scrambled a personal loan acceptance through to cover myself.
Luckily I never had to summon that personal loan. From March 2009 onward it was all blue sky. SO RELIEVED!
I sold out of 6 of those companies after 18 months, including FLT at $21, and made 190% pre tax.
