Not so much of a manipulation.
Knowing about uptrends is half the battle, it's only one part of the puzzle. Even if you don't use shorts, its essential that you know and understand how they work. Otherwise you'll get churned out of a trade.. only to found out later on that shorters were in play when you exited.
