Do you really think that if an extreme Christian Cleric in Australia made similar statements in relation to the abuse of women, there would not be an uproar. I would envisage the uproar would be even louder and would not stop until the cleric was made to hand in his frock. I ask has this happened on this occassion. No! just the same old excuses that the words were taken out of context and didnt actually mean what was said.
