It's alright having preferred trades, but if they are virtual trades they are worthless.
As for The US and Eritrea, you've lost the plot, the US has it's hands full all over the place, little or no interest in Eritrea and absolutely no appetite for another war. North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Somalia (again), Yemen, Israel all immediate concerns of the US. Egypt, Libya both will still be of great concern, eg future Iran's or future Turkey's. Of course the US needs some reserve to contain China and in case Russia needs coercion.
The only credible risk of war to Eritrea is from Ethiopia, and I can't see the US having much more stomach for the regime in Ethiopia. Non-mediteranean Africa really of very little interest to the US, never have been beyond Somali pirates.
Eritrea currently risks a slap from the UN with a wet tissue.
