However, you must consider that there are other things that can make oceans acidic not just CO2. Removal of CO2 would generally mean an alkalinity increase if all other things stayed constant. But nature is rarely constant.
Consider 3 things which I am sure you cant deny :) 1. Increase in SO2. 2. Absorption of SO2 would create acidic oceans 3. So2 gas -> SO3 acid -> So4 acid == Sulphuric ACID!!!
