What do you expect BHP to do more than the initial update and future updates. This is more a newsworthy tragic event and yes you will get more updates on the news wires.
As far as the insurance cover if this is a natural disaster event than insurance should cover most of it incl loss of lives compo but the plant may be down for some time.
Looks like the share price is only down marginally from the ADR. Of course RIO has bounced today. It all depends how the UK and US markets take this event.
