When you request a trading halt the ASX always states the resumption will be at the start of the second day following the request i.e. max 48hrs. This duration is regardless of what your advice to the ASX is in your request. The halt can be lifted any time before the maximum allotted time by releasing the announcement.
So there is no funny business going on here. Just the usual protocol.
