It's a tacit admission in my mind they have not had expected results on the gold exploration front and the last 2 years have been a bust: the results are not there for the spend. So much for "the artisanal miners showing us where the gold is" !!!
I think they were trying to quickly build that resource but found nothing of volume although this is being spun the opposite way. We are being played for fools. Given the results they ought to have tried the 'greenfield' targets up north where no drilling, but it seems now they have no confidence in all those augur programs leading them to any gold.

If the Manganese had not outcropped so they could 'discover' it we would be boned.
Thank heavens the french did a geological survey too or there would be no Li project either!

In an inflationary environment: Manganese near multi-year lows, gold near multi-year highs.
