You realise that some people are going to be looking for cheaper housing. I think more people are going to be moving to the regions and forcing WFH.
Might not be Darwin or Palmerston, certainly Alice Springs is a challenge, but there are people leaking out of Sydney now thanks to unaffordable housing. A tweak of a few government settings could re-direct a few hundred thousand out of permanent renting and into home ownership in the regions/rural.
What about that crap hole Narrabri, NSW? Plenty of miners and mining support service needed.
My income and housing options have done pretty well in the NT. NOT glossing over the OBVIOUS social issues, cause the deaths on custody is getting all the press at the moment.
I suspect that the Darwin region is going to get a lot of attention (and growth) over the next 5 yrs.... betting on it in fact.
