Merrigum - Have you heard of Peak Oil? You presume fuel prices at the pump will remain at present levels for the "rest of our lives". We are unsustainability dependant on hydrocarbons and need to ween ourselves off it to use what's left more strategically.
If only Albert A Bartlett's presentation on logarithmic growth was mandatory for all 18+ year olds on the planet who can understand English.
