I remembered in the year 2000, I was in Beijing. I could not see the Sun! The pollution was so bad that the sky had no clouds but the Sun was just a yellow dish that I could look straight at it without any glasses. Then there was news about people wearing masks, buying oxygen bottles, ... The West has been blaming China for producing so much pollution without acknowledging that by making China the factory of the world, we buy the products but did not take the pollution from the production of the goods. The West has been using China as the dumping ground for industrial pollution. EV has allowed China to change that. China now has much cleaner air due to efforts in controlling pollution and EV is the big part of it in the big cities. The Chinese will never want to go back on this and have unbreathable air again. For them, it's survival to have deal with air pollution and EV is it. EU wants to do the same. We need to look at the long term perspective.
