I have a friend that owns a brewery in joburg and has told me he would stay away from investing in mining in s.a for a while. Civil unrest is aylt an all time high the laws arround the % of black ownership, unionism and covid are making thing very difficult there atm. The biggest gold miner (cant remember their name...something America) has closed up their offices in joburg and moved. He doesnt invest and doesnt know much about this sort of thing but has been a local all his life. Does anyone here have any local knowledge of how things operate there? And can elaborate. I was looking for an entry point but am wary now.
