Except if the SPP is oversubscribed, in which case you can be scaled back. I participated in an SPP last year where the scale back was proportional, i.e. the more shares you held, the higher the allocation. I had only jumped in with the minimum $500 parcel before the record date and was scaled back to a couple of hundred shares, roughly the same size as my holding (I had applied for the maximum in the SPP)
It all depends on the terms of the SPP.
