environmentalists need to provide an alternative first and ornaments or not - the price of gold is $1850 today (and likely going up). So I would somehow take that opportunity for the greater public good if I was the decision maker.
the questions of safety, production, mining method - I leave it all in the capable hands of management. Let’s wait for BFS for example and the first oz extracted. As someone who has no idea about underground mining (or any mining for that matter) nor about actual location of our mine, I can just rely on the progress the company is making towards the stated goals.
by the way, 30m seems awfully short of a distance for the purpose.
