There are some minor differences between DFS and BFS but in practice they are essentially the same - it takes bugger all to update a DFS to a BFS.

Financiers (whether lending institutions or capital investors, project financiers, etc) may sometimes want to see different economic parameters (ie. cost of debt, equity, pricing, etc) entered into the DFS financial models to see how robust the project is, but really there is nothing substantially new in the BFS that is not already covered in the DFS. Any experienced financier will already be able to determine bankability/investability from the DFS.
