Very few, if any, Australian gold companies are able to avoid the massive Capex of building a plant to process their ore by toll milling it.
As older and deeper SA gold reserves are often depleted mills are operating well under capacity, the nearest to the WWI project is 50% under capacity.
No point WWI building a small mill that could not process successive stages of their project.
A 2Mtpa operation, producing ~160kozpa of gold would be needed. Capex would be in the region of AU$200m.
A big ask to raise the funds.
The combination of severe and long term under capacity in SA mines and close proximity to the WWI project has very beneficial economic outcomes.
