I appreciate the need for the media to keep news and current affairs controversial, melodramatic, confrontational, and with more triviamation than in depth debate. Nevertheless it escapes me why Leigh Sales needs to adopt what seems to me an arrogant, rude, ill mannered, interrupting attitude during interviews. If the attempt is to demonstrate the prowess of a hard hitting, pull no punches, asking the hard question journalist, I frequently find the exercise almost offensive in nature, and usually switch channels. Margaret Throsby or Geraldine Douge would in my opinion provide more reasonable in depth debate without resorting to hostile and shrill interruptions.
