Music lost its way and was replaced by digital machines that provided consistency of noise that was overlayed with the occasional human voice and also video took precedence over human musical ability.

It also had a bit of a FU element and the ugliness that came with it with all the grung, punk, thrash, hip-hop, mimmicks, rockabilly, rave etc.

So sad but good to see we came through the era and the younger generations have turned their backs on it and used the older style and for the most part come forth into a better more atoned world of music again.

Not denying there are many that liked this era of music but it certainly polarised a couple of generations and denied many from any interest in music in its purest form.

I concur completely. An utter decade of nothing really. I think this is one of the main reasons the younger generations became fans of the older bands. my son included. Even Disco had its good points.
The old bands like the Stones and ACDC will live on even if we have to wheel them out in barrows or push them along on their shuffle frames.
