    31 July, money spent on mining exploration in PNG hits lowest since 2010. The rest of the world has seen large increases, up 20% last year and is at the highest levels since 2013. Meanwhile PNG expenditure dropped 13.5% just last year and is down 50% since 2013. Why? PNG’s fiscal and regulatory climate in PNG is toxic to investors.

    31 July, the KPHL fiasco continues with the chairman (Pundari) of the Public Accounts Committee saying that chairman (Biang) of KPHL was wrong in saying that KPHL is above constitutional law and doesn’t need to open their books up as all state owned enterprises should. More commentary.
