Thanks Sorbent11 - I'll accept my reward in cash or wine (no AFT scrip please!). I did think twice before saying anything about the comments within the release, but thought people should know. Please note that I have never held VNA or AFT (and never intend holding, shorting or what-have-you).
Interesting to note that the newspaper report refers to the notes as "post-it" notes which is the very same term that I used to describe the comments. The adobe term is "text notes" so obviously HC *is* a major source of research for the press - and to those journos reading this, you should cite your sources guys even just to say it was from HotCopper.
I am a little concerned about the issue of corporate governance and who the comments came from. The ASX should be asking this very question and I hope they have. Was it an insider, or somebody outside the firm? If it is an insider and there is a concern about the "China Contract", then this would seem highly material and likely to have a significant impact on the market. If the disclosure regulations mean anything, then AFT *MUST* provide the market with an update as the announcement puts a lot of weight on the importance of China succeeding.
Maybe some of our journalist colleagues can do some of their own work and follow up on this point themselves ...
