as well, of course as removing the idea that a civilian in charge might look more at non military intervention than a freshly retired military man.
Mattis might be ok - but, I doubt if he should have been the first pick even if the law allowed it. Because - if he thinks that Trump or any leader is required to be gone --------- i seriously doubt if he would hesitate to use the military to achieve the aim.
Most previous Presidents including the founding fathers - who thought it was a really good idea to NOT have something like this - would think it a bad idea.
trump of course - thinks it's a really good idea - but, of course - 6 of his really good ideas have gone into bankruptcy - so, his really good ideas don't always work out too good.
If this is one of his failures - unfortunately - you can't just go away and come back and try again - I don't think he has an understanding of that.
