Wafflehead, you correctly identify the nature of our problems and the way we are heading, and it is looking bleak I agree.
These issues are becoming more part of my thinking these days. I am trying to cling to some hopeful and positive attitudes.(buggered if I know why, as I am ten years older than you).
I used to fondly think we were evolving in our consciousness, and thereby lay hope.
Beginning to doubt that now.
Be it a new religion, or a new way of thinking and behaving, something needs to happen to raise up our
consciousness to a higher level. Our social and political public discourse too often encourage atavistic
feelings and behaviour.
The perversions of the original insights of our old religions means they almost always appeal to our lower nature.
New ways will emerge though, as that is as much in our nature as our atavism, it is one of the Human conditions.
It could be a reversion to the true spirit of the religions of the ages, new insights via science and cosmology, or a blend
of these, but the seeds are there.(probably always have been)
Whilst ever there are seekers and pilgrims there remains hope.
