I think that a large part of the problem is population pressure. The sheer number of people placing demands on natural resources and living space, congested cities, streets, road rage, pedestrians bumping and jostling in ever more crowded sidewalks, longer working hours, less leasure time, a sense of community evaporating over the years, yet none of this is being addressed, or even discussed much in the media.
