Starwoman, The almighty President of the USA could well harm Australian business
and kill off Australian jobs. One of his first actions was to walk away from the Trans Pacific Partnership.
His protectionist agenda could mean that Australian steel will not be allowed into
the USA which already imposed tariffs making it difficult for Australian steel. Now Trump in his speech said he wants USA made steel to be used on infrastructure products. He will increase tariffs on other goods and create problems for our farmers and manufacturers of foodstuffs and other goods and services. On an import/export basis the USA was already screwing Australia with a big imbalance in the Import/Export ratio.
U.S. goods and private services trade with Australia totaled $65 billion in 2012 (latest data available). Exports from the USA to Australia totalled $48 billion; Imports from Australia totalled $16 billion. The U.S. goods and services trade surplus over Australia was $32 billion in 2012.
It incredible that a One Nation supporter is giving preference to USA business and jobs at the expense of Australian businesses and employment.
