I see where you are coming from. One would have to think that a company like Bharat would have quite a bit of string pulling ability when it comes to those kinds of things. Might be able to get a very special price for the rig or something.

Seems that they are not the only Indian company interested in shale gas with another company called Reliance Industries aquiring shale assets in the US. I know nothing about their activities. Possibly there is a little competition for making shale commercially viable between the two. We shall see...
