At least Ian Thorpe took a year off from sport. A bit too much ego tripping has let a younger , keener team get the better of them. The management and selectors are just as much at fault by choosing players that the crowds want to see, rather than their performance. Has happened many times before especially since TV took over. Certainly getting the crowds back in so it is great for the game which was becoming boring. Rugby and a few other team sports due for a shakeup.
