I was listening to the radio this morning and they were talking about a previous series where England didn't water the pitches so that they were very dry and road like.
Apparently the poms actually apologized to us Aussies for the sham.
In that series there was over 400 scored on the first day of the series.
I agree with CEO that the way we place the fields was pretty poor by just letting them score something like 60 singles in the first session under no pressure at all. It was easy for them to get off strike which of course put more pressure on the Aussies.
The way i look at the game now is that we have a great chance on this pitch to get a lead if we bat in a proactive way which i think is what we will do.
Hopefully we don't go through the series letting them bat with crap fields and easy opportunities for singles.
Let them play good attacking shots if they want to score but don't give them easy runs.
