there's an article in wikipedia about the great depression in australia that says we were pretty hard hit because of falling commodities prices but no ASX equivalent chart unfortunately. Says we were one of the worst hit countries socially but at least we could feed ourself then as now and at least the ASX equivalent was stronger than the Dow.
