Good analysis of what is happening. Should have an economics university masters student write a thesis on shorting by institutions and have that submitted - but I think it would make no difference.....the institutions are big and they are a law unto themselves...
I once bought a shares of a stock I really liked through 3 price steps over one day and it led to some interest in the stock and it's share price went up by 5cents over a day. NABTrade who was my stockbroker at the time, phoned me and advised me I was breaking the law and manipulating the stock which I felt was utter rubbish....but I still got a warning!!!!
