the attempt: Trump

I suppose the now dead shooter thought he/she would get away, shooting from a distance.

the bravery of being out of range can cause such stupid ideas to be brought to fruition.

but wasn't this always on the cards? it surprises me it took this long for someone to fire a gun at either Trump or Biden. shat increases the surprise is that Trump was the victim.

the insanity of enabling everyone to have guns, to have guns everywhere in a country only increases probability of gun violence.

and the crazy exposure at open air venues? maybe this will end now that theres been a shot fired in anger.

but it raises a lot of questions:

• why was Trump allowed to continue with open air rallies which made him a bigger target?
• how was a shooter to find a suitable spot to shoot at a victim with so much security service everywhere?
• Why was Trump chosen as the target? and not Biden?
• does this say anything about the public response to Trump's talk?
• how will the Trump followers react?

and this last is what is to come. Will there be a reprisal attack on Biden?

its too bad that this attempt was made on Trump. it will make him a bigger martyr/victim than he was before.

it will likely bind his followers even more tightly.

but also raise division though suspicion that there might be would-be attackers among his followers.
