2 years ago I encouraged my daughter to take her uni degree to the UK and earn good money, save and come back and buy a house in Oz. This she has done, except for the last part. Alas she has discovered that Europe has a lot to offer to the well educated and beginning to be attracted to the real estate market in the UK or in cheaper parts of Europe. She has realised how convenient it is to be working in the UK and be able to fly to many parts of Europe or US with the cheap discount airfares. So how do we keep our young graduates in Australia; the truth is we can't do that by pointing to the sunshine and hoping for the best. This is an example of globalisation working its way through the community from manufacturing to the administrative sector. I see no harm in this except that airfares to Europe are more expensive than the other way. Are we being locked up here? We can expect a move on the airfare front soon.
