I will never forget being in my early 20's and looking on aghast at the abomination that was the new AU falcon in the flesh. All the Ford fans (myself loosely included) just could not believe that somewhere deep inside the bowels of ford there was a team of designers who thought that a) this looked good, and b) this was the car to finally outsell the commodore. The Falcon never really recovered from the AU disaster in the eyes of the Australian public. Later cars looked better, and always drove well, but that was it really. I love my FG Falcon, it has 200000 k's on the clock but drives like a dream and has given me very few problems. I would rather own a Ford over a Holden any day but the Commodore always won in the looks department.
