Those responses indicate that you've NOT factored in other costs at all even as you exaggerate China's conduct while turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to what the USA has been doing ever since half-way through WW2.

We've been riding China's economic bow wave for fifty years and made unprecedented gains as a result. The greatest risk to doing so for yet another fifty years is spitting in China's face as per the Morrison-Trump-Biden Doctrines.

The time has arrived when Australia needs to walk more independently of the USA. We must stop being its obsequious servant in conflicts including the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Iraq War, the War against ISIL, the Israeli War, the Ukrainian War and America's emerging War against China.
