SP very well put, but let me tell you that the Australian media have no idea what they are reading, it seems that all they do is open a bloomberg website and wuote the figures directly from there. Most of the time they even get that wrong especially on radion, sometimes the gold price is at least a few hours old and they also read it incorrectly, I remember one station saying $2000 USD instead of $1200 USD. So But you are correct and we as Australians have an Australian market and we really should quote things in our own currencies, I did notice that sometimes some radio stations will quote oil in both currencies!
