Even though the geology may permit a 10km long panel, there comes significant risk to the business by embarking on such an endeavour too.
A 10km panel at Narrabri assuming 400m face width, 4m cut height (can cut up to 4.3m but seam thins as the mine goes deeper in the south), 1.4t/m3 density, would yield 22,400,000ROMt. That's a lot more than Ulan.........
If it were my mine, no way in hell I'd be signing off on a 10km long set of panels.
