China will/has passed us with R&D,technology,education etc because they have attracted the simple and technologically advanced industries that finance these so called clever sectors.eg with new universities etc Unbelievable bringing in a 3 year only 23% carbon tax to once again increase our cost of production during the worst economic period since the depression.I can't think how sml industry with for example 3 phase power(many family owned)must feel when they recieve their power bills. It was bad enough for industry to cope with obscene utility charges combined with the time required to conform to bureaucratic red tape 10 years ago.I would hate to think what the current strength of the AUD and the increased utility charges have really done to our industries today. Penny wong was asked two or three times what industries we can compete in,she had no answer ,only finally to say thats up to business. I have left out labor costs because i don't think that compares to above costs.
