You get all these chartists sitting around looking at exactly the same charts. They all start saying that the $US has fallen too far too quickly and is due for a correction. They all start saying that Gold has risen too fast and is due for a pull back. So they advise their clients to sell, take the quick profit and buy back in at lower levels. So when everyone sells, the prices drop, then they all start buying back in, the prices rise.
