    Thanks Prime1,

Sorry the remark about a chemistry degree was general and not aimed at you.

Very obviously selling expanded graphite from Mozambique does not make economic sense. However BB has spoke about "value added" products in the YXGC Moz joint venture. These may or may not be derived from expanded graphite.

"The work reported is focused on expanded graphite, which can, as has been well-demonstrated, be readily produced from most flake graphite. "

Yes, up to a point, however the expansion coefficient is not the same for all expandable graphite, as YXGC know better than us, which in part explains their investment in TMG.

The Conclusion of the article clearly states the relationship between highly expanded graphite and graphene, with graphene described as a "2D carbon material".

"The development of 2D carbon materials derived from natural graphite offers attractive opportunities for the development of polymer nanocomposites with improved property profiles such as high thermal and electrical conductivity, improved heat distortion temperatures, IR absorption, gas barrier performance, electromagnetic shielding, fire protection, antistatics, and matrix reinforcement."

The article is absolutely about graphene.

As for volume, I really don't know, these technologies are all in their infancy.

    Cheers

    Mat
