    AH, here's one. Kerry Stokes's Westrac has just taken a $25 million placement, or 60 per cent, of National Hire. Stokesie's got his hurt money in there and lends the muscle of the Caterpillar brand to NHG's positioning against market leader Coates Hire.

    He's paid 22 per cent above market and, if one wanted to think laterally, Nylex has an equipment hire operation it would probably vend in as well.
