Astewart, I commend you for your honesty.

All too often, HC posters brag about their gains - 10 baggers and the like - but seldom does one hear about the losses.

I am a recent investors to BMN, but I have been stung too (although not by such a significant magnitude). Only bought 40,000, thinking I would buy a small stake in the takeover, but have been stung by the less than positive reaction of the market (I have never seen a stock trade at such a discount to the price of the offer - seems to me that the offer will not get up).

I am, however, a long-time holder of SDL and hold a much larger stake (500,000). My average buy price is 58 cents (I bought quite a few at 80 cents in 2007, right before GFC hit, and had no capital to average down when the time was right). With regard to SDL, I can relate to your losses.

Is there anyone who has half a brain that doesn't wish they sold their kidney for a bunch of $20 shares in BHP at the height of the GFC?

Let us be hopeful that the fundamentals of boh BMN and SDL see that we are suitably rewarded.
