Home builder McDonald Jones is the buyer of two large parcels of Simonds Group stock that traded on Thursday, sources told Street Talk.
McDonald Jones snapped up two separate lines of stock worth a combined 5 per cent in the company which increased its Simonds stake to more than 16 per cent. The stock changed hands at 43¢ - higher than a bid to privatise the company - and means McDonald Jones can block the proposal on offer which was already looking shaky.
