@Yoggit; Murdoch is merely slithering off into the background to enable his eldest son to be the fresh face managing the 'angertainment' to which Malcolm Turnbull referred this morning on ABC News.
To paraphrase Turnbull, the damage Murdoch's Empire has done to democracy and especially in the USA exceeds what Putin and Russia could even dream for.
Murdoch's legacy has delivered unresolved crisis ranging from the global failure to address the proliferation of WMDs, climate change, population growth, poverty and environmental sustainability. None of that is going away anytime soon and indeed seems certain to worsen!
