We live in different times today where there is struggle to control the world resources (Iraq, Georgia, Darfur) are the most popular of them, Once Australia resources are controlled by others so will be its regime. This is what I believe. I would be less likely to strongly oppose a takeover from lets say private company from another stable democracy but you can’t allow some takeovers and deny others just because they come from a specific country, it introduces a whole range of political issues and problems, a simple solution would be to ban any foreign company from having 51% in general. This is again my opinion and I might be wrong.
