perhaps there is an inkling of truth in that article but really most of it is science fiction and generally not based on facts, for instance electricity will not fail in 2008 because of lack of fuel from oil.
Power stations generally burn coal, natural gas, or are nuclear powered, and some draw on water and wind energy.
