I find the BDI harder to read.
It's a concern that it's dropping, though it's still above the Feb 2011 low. As I understand it, the number of new vessels has increased a lot in the past couple of years (encouraged by the BDI going astronomic just before the GFC) and that has resulted in lower shipping prices. It makes it much harder to read the signals IMO.
