I have been having a dull, foggy headache for years now that modern western economics is dying and that we are transitioning to something else ... is it civilised evolution or post industrialisation apocalypse?
Globalisation was the nail in the coffin imo.
Off shoring for cheaper production killed jobs and fuelled relentless competition that has driven down profitability in outsourcing countries and allowed the rise and rise of the emerging economies.
We have to be entering a period of Asian dominance ... there is hunger and desire to get ahead in those varied and vibrant nations and a sense of indignant loss expressed as social unrest in formerly wealthy western economies ... look no further than how Greeks are reacting to their current circumstances
Globalisation took foothold due to greed .... cheap goods at the expense of jobs and the permanent loss of productive capacity.
