I copied this from another thread and have been doing a fair bit of research, this could be huge for the REE industry and l suspect why many governments including Germany and Mongolia are signing up for REE with each other,

In my view the most important developments over the next decade will be the development of room temperature superconductors. So far room temperature superconductors have not yet been discovered, the highest temperature so far obtained being found is lanthanum oxygen fluorine iron arsenide (LaO1-xFxFeAs), an oxypnictide that superconducts below 26 K. Replacing the lanthanum in LaO1-xFxFeAs with samarium leads to superconductors that work at 55 K.

If room temperature superconductors can be developed, and they use REE in their composition, they REE usage will explode. Imagine power transmission lines with zero loss; (currently losses in these lines are typically 60%). These supercondutors would revolutionise the way we use and transmit electrical power.
