Was this so-called research conducted by the companies operating a BNPL service?
In terms of the surcharge, businesses may not pass on the full amount, but they may choose to pass on a sub-portion. Any fee incurred by the customer whatsoever will most likely result in them having 2nd thoughts of using the service.
