Sounds like a typical broker who wants to be right more than he wants to make money.
He thinks markets should always make sense and follow his play book and if they don't he stamps his prude feet but he's really just butt hurt that he missed out on a huge run while those around him made money and will now push his I told you so narrative on whoever will listen to him until the stock recovers.
Not a crime to raise capital to scale quickly in an emerging industry or reduce your position in a stock.
